Hi, I am He Ziyi. I am currently pursuing a Master’s degree in International Chinese Language Education at one of China’s leading teacher-training universities. I hold a Chinese High School Teaching Certificate in Chinese Language and Literature and a Mandarin Proficiency Certificate (Level 2-A), with a strong foundation in the Chinese language and clear, standard Mandarin pronunciation. I have also passed CET-6 (College English Test Band 6) and can communicate effectively in everyday English, allowing me to support beginner learners and help them better understand the lessons. I have extensive experience in one-on-one Chinese tutoring and in-person Chinese language teaching for international students. I have taught Chinese vocabulary to students from Turkmenistan and several African countries, as well as students from an international school in Mongolia and schools in Indonesia, giving me valuable experience working with learners from diverse cultural backgrounds. My students are mainly teenagers aged 12–18, and I primarily teach HSK preparation, the Easy Steps to Chinese series, and Chinese vocabulary. I also offer conversational Chinese lessons for adult learners, helping them build confidence and communicate more effectively in everyday situations. My classes focus on engagement, interaction, and practical language use. I use digital learning tools such as Wordwall and Quizlet to support students with both pre-class preparation and after-class review. I also use AI tools to create vocabulary games, interactive exercises, and engaging classroom activities, incorporating game-based learning into my lessons so that students can learn and use Chinese in a relaxed and enjoyable environment. I tailor my lessons to each student’s Chinese proficiency, learning goals, and individual needs, helping them find the learning approach that works best for them.
